We are delighted to have secured the rights to the musical
Made in Dagenham for our show at Derngate from Tuesday October 29th-Saturday November 2nd. This is a great lively and funny real life story based on the Ford factory in the 1970s.
There are plenty of male /female chorus numbers and about 20 parts for people of all ages. There is also lots of moving and dancing involved.
Martyn has again agreed to direct and choreograph and because we need a cast that will be totally committed to help promote this show in events around the county throughout the summer, auditions will be earlier than usual on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April.
The Youth Society are performing High School Musical at Cripps from Thursday 18th -Saturday 20th April
The Concert Group to perform an Old Time Music Hall on Sunday June 23rd at The Royal Theatre.
This will also include alternative acts including some dancing and we are inviting any other members to get involved with this. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays at Northgate 7.30-9.30pm.
- You must provide your own sheet music for our pianist to accompany you.
- Your audition song doesn’t have to be from a musical, as long as you feel it shows you off to your best
- Our auditions are often very busy, so please don’t be offended if we stop you mid-song. In fact, if your favourite verse isn’t the first one, it may be best to start part way through the song, please discuss this with our pianist when you come in for your audition.
- We prefer live piano accompaniment, however, if you would like to use a backing track, please ensure that it is Karaoke style (no pre-recorded singing) and bring along something to play it on! Please also be prepared to sing some exercises with our pianist, so that we can check that you can follow the piano.
